Ning wakes up in a horse carriage after saving her sister, Shu’s life. Ning, Shu, Zhen, and Ruyi continue on the journey to save Jia. Along the way, Ning faces failure, is separated from her friends, a serpent once-a-god follows Ning through her magic, she is kidnapped and sent to find the “Hermit” to find an ancient relic. Can Ning and her friends save Jia from the serpent, god of nightmares, who has risen from his previous defeat? Kang is kept in the dark by both his father and the Chancellor. But someone else is willing to speak. Kang finds notes written in his food which lead him to discover that there is some other force at play. When he is sent on a mission with the Chancellor to find the missing relic, his men find Ning, Shu, and their guide who are led to the prison tent.
